The Darkest Hour (2011) follows the harrowing journey of five young individuals who become trapped in Moscow amidst a catastrophic alien invasion. The 3D thriller showcases the stunning architecture of Moscow while delivering breathtaking special effects. Sean and Ben, American web designers, travel to Moscow to pitch a global traveler social networking site, only to discover that their Swedish colleague, Skyler, has betrayed them by selling the idea as his own. While consoling themselves in a local nightclub, they encounter two American women, Natalie and Anne. Suddenly, the power fails, and they witness strange lights descending from the sky, disintegrating everyone they touch. The five take shelter in the club's basement. Upon emerging the next morning, they find the city eerily deserted, with all other inhabitants seemingly vanished. As they attempt to reach safety, they are hunted by invisible alien entities that track them through their body heat. Joining a small group of survivors, they strive to find a way to combat the alien threat.
