During World War II, he secures hidden locations to safeguard these films. By mid-1944, the Cinémathèque boasts a collection of 50,000 films. Despite clashes with bureaucrats, Langlois gains support from the New Wave movement. The museum finally opens its doors in 1972. The film pays tribute to Langlois' unique philosophy, his charismatic personality, unwavering dedication, and his visionary approach to film preservation.
