Design for Living (1933) follows the story of two friends, George Curtis, a painter, and Tom Chambers, a playwright, who share an apartment in Paris. Their lives take an unexpected turn when they encounter Gilda Farrell, an American commercial artist, during a train journey to the city. Both men are instantly captivated by Gilda, but she finds it challenging to choose between them. In a unique arrangement, the trio decides to live together in a ménage à trois, navigating the complexities of their unconventional living situation.
