For 200 Grand, You Get Nothing Now (1982) follows the misadventures of Sam and Paul, two unemployed men who resort to robbing a bank in Paris. With a recent surge in bank heists, they believe their attempt will go unnoticed. Equipped with mere toy guns, their amateurish attempt initially seems to go smoothly. However, the bank employees, unimpressed by their lack of professionalism, offer them some unexpected guidance. Nicole, the bank's publicist and a survivor of a previous robbery, steps in to assist Sam and Paul. She assures them that their ransom demand will be met, especially with the holiday season approaching, and that the police will allow them to escape. Unfortunately for them, Nicole's optimism is misplaced. The police, tired of being outsmarted, are determined to put an end to the robberies and bring the criminals to justice.
