Grand National Night (1953) follows the tumultuous events that unfold after a race horse trainer, Gerald Coates, celebrates a victory at the Grand National. His wife returns home in an inebriated state, leading to a heated altercation that tragically results in her death. Coates maintains that his wife never came home after the race, but the police grow suspicious when a train ticket is discovered in his coat. As the net of suspicion tightens around him, Coates finds an unlikely ally who steps in to assist him.
