The Sword of Ali Baba (1965) begins with the Mongol invasion of Baghdad in 1258, forcing the Caliph to flee with his young son, Ali. The Caliph is captured and killed, but Ali escapes and eventually joins the forty thieves, a resistance force hiding in the desert. Meanwhile, Ali's betrothed, the daughter of Prince Kasim, is taken to Baghdad to marry the Mongol leader, Hulago Khan. Ali infiltrates Baghdad, rescues her, and reveals his true identity. The princess's wedding to the Khan is scheduled for Ramadan, prompting Ali and his band of thieves to attend the celebrations disguised as traders. A fierce battle erupts, leading to the Khan's demise and the liberation of Baghdad. Ali and his princess ultimately live happily ever after.
