Funny Face (1957) follows the story of a renowned fashion photographer, Dick Avery, portrayed by Fred Astaire, who transforms a quaint Greenwich Village bookstore into a makeshift studio for a photoshoot. The chaotic session leaves the store in disarray, causing distress to the salesgirl, Jo Stockton, played by Audrey Hepburn. Avery, feeling remorseful, assists Jo in tidying up. Later, while reviewing the photographs, Avery and his colleague, Maggie Prescott (Kay Thompson), the editor of a prominent fashion magazine, are captivated by Jo's distinctive appearance in the background of one of the shots. They extend a modeling contract to Jo, which she initially accepts reluctantly due to the allure of a trip to Paris. Over time, Jo's initial disdain for the modeling world begins to fade, and she finds herself enjoying the work and the companionship of her charming photographer.
