Viking (2016) is set in the late 10th century, following the demise of Svyatoslav I, the ruler of Kievan Rus. The narrative revolves around the young Viking prince Vladimir of Novgorod, who is compelled to flee across the icy sea to evade his deceitful half-brother Yaropolk. Yaropolk has not only assassinated their other sibling, Oleg, but has also seized control of the Viking lands of Kievan Rus. The seasoned warrior Sveneld persuades Vladimir to gather a formidable Varangian fleet, aiming to reclaim Novgorod from Yaropolk and eventually confront the formidable Byzantine forces.
