Heart and Sword (TV) (1998) follows the journey of Prince Tristan, who, after his father's passing, resides in Cornwall under the care of his uncle, King Marke. When the Irish king dispatches his son Morold to demand exorbitant taxes, Tristan accepts the challenge and, despite severe injuries, manages to defeat Morold. Drifting to Ireland, Tristan is found by Isolde, Morold's sister, who, along with her mother, nurses him back to health. Unaware of his true identity, Tristan returns to Cornwall, where the barons press King Marke to take a wife. Intrigued by Isolde's beauty, the king sends Tristan to Ireland to bring her back as his bride. Isolde is horrified by her father's eagerness to marry her to Morold's killer and a foreign king. During their voyage back, she attempts to poison both herself and Tristan, but the potion turns out to be a love elixir, leading to a complex and passionate relationship between the two.
