15 Jahre (2023) follows the story of Jenny, a former piano prodigy who spent 15 years in prison for a murder she did not commit. After her release, she seeks solace in a Christian halfway house, attempting to cope with her self-loathing through prayer. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she encounters Omar, a Syrian war refugee with a remarkable singing talent. Jenny agrees to accompany him on the piano in a televised music talent competition. However, this decision forces her to confront the man who actually committed the crime for which she was imprisoned. During her incarceration, Jenny's first and only love, Fleischer, rose to fame as a pop star and is now a judge on the same talent show where Jenny and Omar are standout contestants. After enduring years of pain and injustice, Jenny must decide between seeking vengeance or embracing a fragile chance at happiness and a new future.
