The Broken Line (2008) follows the story of lifelong friends Sébastien Messier and Danny Demers, who share a deep bond, including a passion for boxing. After a prolonged absence of a year and a half, Danny returns to Montreal, Canada, at his lowest point, with no prospects in sight. Meanwhile, Sébastien is on the rise, gearing up for the fight of his life to become the world champion. Their reunion is filled with emotional moments, memories, and promises. However, a dramatic event disrupts their paths, leaving Sébastien adrift and blinded by ambition. It is his desire to measure up to Danny that drives him to seek redemption. Initially, Sébastien believes he only needs to regain his physical form to prove his superiority. But as the ghosts of the past resurface, he finds the courage to confront his demons, ultimately giving Danny the ultimate proof of his friendship.
