Alien (1979) follows the crew of the commercial towing vessel Nostromo as they intercept a mysterious transmission from a distant, uncharted planet while en route to Earth. Compelled to investigate, the crew descends onto the planet's surface, where they encounter a nest of unknown creatures. Simultaneously, the ship's AI decodes the message as a cautionary warning rather than a distress call. The crew's fate takes a grim turn when they inadvertently disturb one of the eggs, setting off a chain of terrifying events that reveal the true horror lurking in the shadows.
