Negative Happy Chain Saw Edge (2007) follows the journey of Yosuke, an unmotivated student who drifts through life, haunted by the loss of a close friend. Despite his intelligence and wit, Yosuke struggles to find meaning in his existence. His life takes a dramatic turn when he encounters Eri, a striking young woman grappling with her own tragic past. Yosuke is instantly smitten, but their budding relationship is abruptly disrupted by a colossal entity descending from the heavens, intent on confronting Eri. Armed with concealed knives, Eri is no stranger to such encounters. Yosuke, driven by his newfound love, decides to support Eri, even though she is far more capable and prepared for the impending battle.
