Todo el horizonte para morir (1971) follows the story of a Mormon pastor named Mateo, who is haunted by the murder of his father, which he witnessed during his childhood. Despite his traumatic past, Mateo builds a church and advocates against violence through his sermons. The narrative takes a dramatic turn when a gunman named Gumaro intervenes to assist the preacher against two outlaws, resulting in the death of one of them. In retaliation, four brothers of the slain outlaw launch a brutal attack on Mateo's ranch, tragically killing his pregnant wife, their son, and a worker, leaving Mateo for dead. After recovering from his injuries, Mateo abandons his pacifist teachings and embarks on a quest for vengeance against those responsible for the senseless violence.
