Empiric (S) (2021) follows the story of Alexandra, a young woman in her twenties residing in a small Romanian town with her mother and her mentally disabled younger sibling. She is employed at a local textile factory. Under the strict communist anti-abortion laws, women are subjected to monthly gynecological examinations, each finding their own methods to navigate this requirement. However, Alexandra's carefully laid plans to evade the system are abruptly disrupted when an unexpected "parade" orchestrated by the Party Secretary interferes with her routine.
