Around the Table (2021) follows Haruko, a single mother who shares her home with her son Riku, her friend Aiko, and Aiko's partner Sorao. This unique living situation is disrupted when Yuko, the daughter of Haruko's estranged friend Tomoyo, arrives to spend the summer attending an art institute. Tomoyo, who has not been in touch with Haruko for many years, reaches out to request that Yuko stay with Haruko. The reunion brings to light the complicated history between Haruko and Tomoyo, creating a tense atmosphere as the summer unfolds.
