Beyond Glory (1948) follows the story of Cadet Captain Rockwell "Rocky" Gilman, who is confronted with serious allegations by an investigating committee at West Point. These charges could potentially ruin his reputation and tarnish the school's image. The investigation is sparked by financier Raymond Denmore, whose son harbors a grudge against Rocky for justifiably causing his expulsion from the Academy. As the hearing unfolds, it is revealed that Rocky is a tormented World War II hero, decorated with the Distinguished Service Cross, who blames himself for the death of his commanding officer, Captain Harry Daniels, during a battle in Tunisia. Additionally, Rocky finds himself deeply in love with the widow of his fallen commander, Ann.
