Midnight Run (1988) follows the story of Jack Walsh, a jaded former cop who now works as a bounty hunter. He is presented with a lucrative offer of $100,000 to transport Jonathan "the Duke" Mardukas, a mild-mannered accountant, from New York to Los Angeles. Jonathan, who had embezzled funds from the mob and donated the money to charity, is now a fugitive after skipping bail. Jack initially expects a straightforward journey, but his plans are disrupted when he discovers that Jonathan owes a staggering $15 million to the ruthless mobster Jimmy Serrano, who has ordered a hit on the anxious and timid accountant. Adding to the chaos, the FBI is also in pursuit of Jonathan to secure his testimony against the mob. The duo embarks on a wild and unpredictable adventure, navigating through planes, trains, and cars, as they desperately try to evade Jonathan's enemies. Their journey is filled with hilarious and unexpected turns, as the mismatched pair must work together despite their constant bickering.
