Jersey Girl (2004) follows the journey of Ollie Trinke (Ben Affleck), a charismatic and prosperous music publicist in Manhattan who appears to have everything figured out. His world is abruptly shattered by a tragic event, leaving him a single father ill-equipped for the role. This sudden turn of events leads to a dramatic change in his life. Ollie finds himself jobless and forced to move back to his childhood home in a New Jersey suburb with his father (George Carlin). This move marks the lowest point in his life. As the years pass, Ollie struggles to find his footing in a monotonous, unfulfilling job, feeling trapped and disconnected from his former life. Despite his circumstances, he cherishes his bond with his young daughter Gertie (Raquel Castro), who finds joy and wonder in their suburban life. One day, while renting Gertie's favorite movie, Ollie encounters Maya (Liv Tyler), who prompts him to reevaluate his priorities and perspective. Through this encounter, Ollie begins to understand that true happiness often comes from embracing who you are and what truly matters.
