The Secret Ways (1961) is set in Vienna, 1956, where a daring mission unfolds following the Soviet tanks' suppression of the Hungarian uprising. Mike Reynolds, a seasoned soldier-of-fortune, is enlisted to assist a Hungarian scientist, Prof. Jansci, in escaping the perilous streets of Budapest. Accompanied by Julia, the professor's daughter, they navigate the treacherous landscape, posing as journalists to evade detection. However, their journey takes an unexpected turn when the steadfast freedom fighter, Prof. Jansci, refuses to leave his homeland, complicating their escape plan.
