Twenty Hours (1965)

Twenty Hours (1965) follows a journalist who spends a mere twenty hours in a small village, during which time he uncovers a rich tapestry of stories spanning two decades. He delves into the life of "Jóska the President," a man whose childhood friendship with Balogh Anti shaped his journey. Despite facing numerous obstacles, Jóska's transformation led him to take up arms against his old friend during the 1956 revolution. The journalist also learns about another tragedy from that year: Kocsis Béni, a close friend, was killed by the party secretary, Varga Sándor. Jóska, who has endured many struggles, is no longer alone. The cooperative's leadership, though initially hesitant to make decisions, faces significant resistance to modern changes, but the past cannot be repeated.
