Luciano Serra, Pilot (1938) follows the journey of a renowned aviator from World War I, Luciano Serra, who struggles to adapt to civilian life after the war. Leaving his family behind, he embarks on a new adventure as a pilot in America. In the 1930s, his son in Italy aspires to follow in his father's footsteps and become a pilot. Luciano accepts a risky mission from a dubious agent to fly from Rio de Janeiro to Rome, but his plane goes down in the Atlantic. The world believes Luciano is lost, but he secretly joins the Italian army under an assumed name to fight in Ethiopia. During a critical moment, the train carrying his unit is ambushed by Ethiopian forces, and his son, on a reconnaissance mission, is shot down and injured by the same attackers. The question remains: can Luciano successfully pilot the plane back to provide crucial air support for the outnumbered Italian troops?
