My God, My God, Why Hast Thou Forsaken Me? (2005) is set in the year 2015, where the world's major cities are devastated by a horrifying plague known as the Lemming Syndrome. This highly contagious virus instills unbearable dread and overwhelming despair in its victims, with no known cure. In a secluded country mansion, two musicians, Nizui and Asuhara, live in isolation, dedicating their lives to creating pure sound, away from the fame and corruption of the city. Their tranquil existence is disrupted when an elderly plutocrat, his gravely ill daughter, and a detective arrive. The detective believes that the music created by Nizui and Asuhara holds the key to saving the old man's daughter. Amidst the vast, unchanging stillness of nature, the musicians begin to play, hoping to find a way to combat the deadly virus.
