In Search of a Midnight Kiss (2007) follows Wilson, a struggling 29-year-old writer, who finds himself at a low point after a year of disappointments, including an unsold script, a lack of direction, and no romantic prospects. His loyal friend, Jacob, persuades him to post a personal ad on Craig’s List for a New Year’s Eve date. The ad attracts Vivian, a witty and sarcastic woman who initially seems like a disastrous match. Despite their differences, Wilson and Vivian navigate the bustling streets of Los Angeles in a series of chaotic and awkward encounters, each hoping to find a meaningful connection before the clock strikes midnight.
