Cat People (1942) introduces us to Irena Dubrovna, a Serbian fashion designer residing in New York City, who is both alluring and enigmatic. She finds love and marries Oliver Reed, an ordinary American man. However, their union faces challenges as Irena is convinced she is afflicted by an ancient curse that transforms her into a panther during moments of intense emotion, leading her to harm others. Oliver dismisses her fears as irrational and immature, urging her to seek help from psychiatrist Dr. Judd. The task of addressing Irena's condition proves to be far from simple.
