Deveras me atrapaste (1983) follows the tumultuous journey of a young woman from a small town who moves to Mexico City and becomes entangled in a world of drugs, sex, and supernatural encounters. Aida, the protagonist, quickly falls into the city's hedonistic lifestyle upon meeting new friends. Her life takes a dramatic turn when she begins to experience visions of a ghostly figure known as "El Humo" ("Smoke"). Their encounter at a party sparks an intense romantic connection, but their relationship is fraught with confusion and uncertainty. When El Humo vanishes for five days, Aida's distress leads her to isolate herself, experiment with drugs, and ultimately have a vision that reveals the truth about El Humo.
