A Case of Deadly Force (TV) (1986) is a gripping drama inspired by real events, centering around a 1975 incident involving a cover-up by two white members of the Boston Tactical Unit. During a stakeout targeting a suspected getaway car used in an armed robbery, the officers fatally shot a black man who approached the vehicle. The officers asserted that the man was armed and they acted in self-defense. The police investigation concluded that the shooting was justified. However, the man's widow, convinced her husband was unarmed, embarked on a mission to clear his name. She enlisted the help of a former police officer turned lawyer, who, along with his four sons, challenged the police force in a legal battle that ultimately became a significant legal precedent.
