Bedtime Stories for Grownups (1974) follows a young couple who move into a new apartment, eager to enjoy some quality time together. However, their plans are continually disrupted by the thin walls of their building, which allow them to hear every disturbance from their neighbors. From sudden cries of "Fire!" to the eerie screams from the dentist's office, the couple faces a barrage of disturbances. To keep his girlfriend calm, the young man resorts to telling her various tales where lovers find themselves in even more challenging situations, hoping to make their own predicament seem less bothersome.
