Her Vengeance (1988) follows Kit-Ying, portrayed by Pauline Wong, a public-relations officer for a Macau dance troupe, who enjoys a tranquil life. Her world is shattered when five intoxicated men disrupt a performance and later assault and brutally attack her on her way home. Kit-Ying subsequently discovers she has contracted a venereal disease and resolves to seek retribution by traveling to Hong Kong. There, she crosses paths with a journalist, Kelvin Wong, who offers her shelter. To support herself, Kit-Ying secures a job at a bar with the assistance of her brother-in-law, Lam Ching Ying, and another barmaid, Susan. This gripping and atmospheric Hong Kong film is a tense adaptation of the provocative cult classic, "I Spit on Your Grave.
