Cyrano de Bergerac (1950) is set in France during the year 1640, where the story revolves around Cyrano, a renowned swordsman and poet known for his distinctive nose. Cyrano is deeply in love with the enchanting Roxane, who, however, confides in Cyrano her affection for the handsome but tongue-tied Christian. In a display of chivalry, Cyrano devises a plan with Christian to help him woo Roxane, leading to a series of events with tragic consequences. The film is an adaptation of the original play, with significant cuts but retaining the original dialogue.
