Secret Passage (2004) unfolds in the tumultuous era of 1492, where Isabel and Clara, two sisters, navigate a world gripped by fear and persecution. Spain's edict forces Jews to choose between conversion to Catholicism, exile, or facing trial and execution. Despite their forced baptism, the sisters are relentlessly pursued across Christendom until they find refuge in Venice. This city, known for its wealth and tolerance, becomes a haven where Isabel orchestrates clandestine routes for refugees escaping the Inquisition. Meanwhile, Clara finds herself drawn to Paolo Zane, a Venetian noble. Isabel's plan is to lead her family to Istanbul, the only place where Jews can live freely, but Clara's love for Paolo complicates her resolve. Clara defies Isabel's leadership, willing to sever family bonds and forsake her faith for love. Caught in the middle of this conflict is Clara's daughter, Victoria, who discovers she is about to be married into the same faith that took her father's life.
