Adam's Rib (1990)

Adam's Rib (1990) unfolds in a compact urban apartment where a grandmother, her daughter Nina, and their two daughters coexist in a delicate balance. The grandmother, confined to her bed and unable to speak, communicates through a bell. Nina, a museum guide, yearns for male companionship and reminiscences about her two former husbands, each the father of one of her daughters. Lida, the elder daughter, is a striking young woman in her twenties, engaged in a secret affair with her supervisor and considering a month-long getaway with him. Nastiya, the younger daughter, is a sharp-tongued 15-year-old attending a vocational school. As the family gathers to celebrate the grandmother's birthday, Nina's new male friend and the fathers of both girls arrive. Lida uncovers more about her boss, and Nastiya reveals her pregnancy just as her former boyfriend, intoxicated, knocks on the door. Even the grandmother has a revelation to share with the family.
