The Tall T (1957) follows Pat Brennan, who, after losing his horse in a wager, joins a stagecoach carrying newlyweds Willard and Doretta Mims. At a subsequent stop, the stagecoach and its occupants are seized by a trio of bandits led by a man named Usher. Upon discovering that Doretta is the daughter of a wealthy copper-mine owner, Usher plots to kidnap her for ransom. Over the next 24 hours, the tension escalates as Usher awaits a response to his demands, while a romantic connection blossoms between Brennan and Doretta.
