Cannibal Ferox (1981) follows the journey of Gloria, a New York graduate student and anthropologist, her sibling Rudy, and their companion Pat, as they venture into the isolated depths of the Amazon rainforest. Their mission is to debunk the local legend of cannibalism among the indigenous tribes. However, their expedition takes a sinister turn when they encounter Mike Lawson, a ruthless and sadistic drug dealer, and his accomplice Joe. The duo is evading murder and drug-related charges from New York and is exploiting the peaceful natives to mine for emeralds and harvest coca. When Lawson brutally kills several natives, including the chief's daughter, out of sheer cruelty, the tribesmen retaliate. The warriors subject the two dealers and the three students to the most gruesome torture and murder, enforcing their own harsh jungle justice.
