Mara Maru (1952) follows the thrilling journey of Greg Mason, a skilled salvage diver operating in the Philippines. After discovering his partner Andy in a drunken state, rambling about a hidden treasure, Greg's life takes a dramatic turn. The treasure, it seems, is so coveted that someone is willing to kill Andy and pin the murder on Greg. Exonerated by a cunning private investigator, Greg becomes entangled in a web of deception. Alongside detective Rainier, the enigmatic Benedict, the mysterious Orgega, and Andy's alluring widow, Greg finds himself on a perilous sea voyage. The group is united by their shared quest to uncover the unknown treasure, but trust is scarce, and danger lurks at every turn.
