Mari and Mari (2021) follows the story of Norio and his girlfriend, Mari Tanabe, who have been in a relationship for three years. Their tranquil life takes an unexpected turn one summer afternoon when Norio returns home to find something amiss. As the intense sunlight streams into their apartment, Norio notices Mari's absence and the presence of an unfamiliar woman. This pale-skinned stranger claims to be Mari and intends to reside with Norio, setting the stage for a series of unsettling events.
