Mellow Mud (2016) follows the story of a 17-year-old girl named Raya and her younger brother who find themselves in a desperate situation. To avoid losing their home, they conceal the passing of their grandmother. Raya employs various tactics to maintain the illusion that their grandmother is still with them, all while navigating her romantic feelings for her English teacher. Despite her best attempts to keep everything under control, the situation begins to spiral. Raya turns to her mother, who resides in distant London, for assistance in managing the escalating chaos.
