The Temporary Widow (1930) follows the intriguing story of Kitty Kellermann, who finds herself on trial for the alleged murder of her husband, an unsuccessful artist. When her lawyer unexpectedly withdraws from the case, the enigmatic Peter Bille takes over. However, it is soon revealed that Peter is not a lawyer but Kitty's secret lover, and he shockingly admits to the murder. Kitty then discloses that her husband's paintings have become surprisingly valuable since his supposed death, only for the husband to make a dramatic and unexpected reappearance, alive and well.
