Jericho (1937) follows the journey of a brave corporal, Jericho Jackson, who defies orders during World War I to rescue his fellow crewmen from a sinking ship. Tragically, a sergeant loses his life in the process, leading to Jackson's court-martial and a death sentence. Jackson escapes, and his captain, who is wrongfully imprisoned for assisting his escape, vows to bring him to justice. Jackson flees to Morocco, where his medical expertise earns him a new life as a tribal leader. He becomes instrumental in negotiating peace and leading the annual salt caravan. However, a confrontation with his former captain seems inevitable. The question remains: can true justice be served?
