Tout va bien (All's Well) (1972) follows Susan, an American journalist working as a French correspondent for a radio network, and her husband, Jacques, a former prominent filmmaker of the French New Wave, now creating television commercials. When Susan visits a sausage factory to interview the manager, Vittorio Caprioli, they find themselves amidst an impromptu strike by the workers. The employees, frustrated with their employers and union, seize the manager and demand better wages and respect. Throughout the day, various individuals share their views on political and economic change with the camera, while Susan and Jacques' strained relationship is also explored.
