The Unknown Terror (1957) follows the enigmatic vanishing of Jim Wheatley (Charles Gray) during a cave expedition near a Mexican village, prompting his sister, Gina (Mala Powers), and her spouse, Dan Matthews (John Howard), to embark on a quest to find him. Accompanying them is the resentful and disabled Pete Morgan (Paul Richards), who blames Dan for his condition and harbors feelings for Gina. The group learns about an ancient Indian myth involving the Cave of the Dead, where human sacrifices were offered to the gods. Dr. Ramsey (Gerald Milton), who is married to a local woman, Concha (May Wynn), denies any knowledge of the cave but is in the area due to the favorable climate for his research on cultivating fungus for antibiotic production.
