Under Military Law 3 (TV Series) (2019) is set in Odessa during the summer and autumn of 1944, as the city recovers from German-Romanian occupation following its liberation by the Red Army. Despite the city's newfound freedom, military intelligence reports suggest that a network of Abwehr agents and skilled saboteurs, recruited from the local population, remain hidden within Odessa. In response, Moscow assembles a specialized task force comprising members of SMERSH and investigators from the military prosecutor's office. This elite group, led by SMERSH Captain Viktor Zvyaginov, includes Svetlana Elagina and Ivan Rokotov, who are tasked with reinforcing local authorities and police. Their mission involves not only uncovering the Abwehr agents but also resolving various criminal cases that arise during their investigation.
