The Request (2010) unfolds in the vibrant setting of Goa, where Ethan Mascarenhas, portrayed by Hrithik Roshan, is a former magician now confined to a wheelchair due to a severe spinal injury. Ethan, who is a quadriplegic, has found solace in his role as a Radio Jockey. Sofia D'Souza, played by Aishwarya Rai, has been his dedicated nurse for over a decade. On the 14th anniversary of his accident, Ethan makes a profound decision to seek legal assistance from his best friend and lawyer, Devyani Dutta (Shernaz Patel), to file a petition for euthanasia. Ethan's mother, Isabel Mascarenhas (Nafisa Ali), stands firmly behind her son's request. Meanwhile, a young aspiring magician, Omar Siddiqui (Aditya Roy Kapoor), enters Ethan's life, eager to learn the art of magic from the former magician.
