The People's Enemy (1935) follows the story of Vince M. Falcone, a notorious gangster driven by an insatiable desire for wealth, which he amasses through questionable means. Once he achieves his financial goals, Falcone yearns for social acceptance and decides to marry a refined society woman. With a young daughter in tow, he aims to integrate into high society. However, when challenges arise, he abandons his family without hesitation. Fortunately, Taps, a lawyer with ties to the underworld, steps in to support and console both his wife and daughter.
