Out Of This World (TV Series) (1987) centers on Evie Garland, the offspring of Troy and Donna Garland. Troy, an extraterrestrial from the distant planet Anterias, imparts unique abilities to Evie. Throughout the series, Evie harnesses three extraordinary powers: the ability to halt and resume time, to materialize objects with a peculiar sound, and to teleport herself across distances. Troy resides on Anterias and remains unseen, communicating with Evie through a mystical crystal cube. At the start of the series, Evie is a 13-year-old living in Marlowe, California, with her mother. The Garland household frequently welcomes visitors such as Donna's brother Beano, the former actor and current mayor Kyle Applegate, Evie's close friend Lindsey, her boyfriend Chris, and the literal-minded Buzz. The narrative typically follows Evie as she navigates and resolves the predicaments she often finds herself in due to her extraordinary abilities.
