The Pool Hustlers (1983) follows the story of Francesco, also known as 'Toscano', a highly skilled pool player who struggles to secure victories when betting on his games. His life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters Chiara, a talented saxophone player, during a late-night bus ride. A mix-up involving their cases—one containing a pool cue and the other a saxophone—leads to a serendipitous meeting and a blossoming romance. However, Francesco's newfound happiness is threatened when he incurs a significant debt after losing a high-stakes match against 'Scuro', the reigning Italian champion. To clear his debt, Francesco must now focus on winning the Italian Championships, a daunting challenge that will test his skills and determination.
