Happy Ghost IV (1990) follows a group of university students who stumble upon the remnants of a malevolent ancient warlord hidden within an old cave. They unwittingly transport these remains to their dormitory, inadvertently awakening the vengeful spirit of the warlord. The ghost is driven by a desire to exact revenge on the woman who caused his demise centuries ago, who has now been reborn as Annie, the arrogant girlfriend of college professor Hong Sam Kwai. As Kwai and Annie find themselves in grave danger, Kwai's reincarnated spirit, Stewart Pik, steps in to protect them and confront the demonic force.
