First We Take Brooklyn (2018) follows the story of Mikki Levy, a man who has spent his life behind bars in one of Israel's most formidable prisons. When an unexpected legal technicality leads to his early release, Mikki finds himself in New York City, seeking a new beginning. Settling in Brooklyn with his uncle, Mikki quickly realizes the harsh realities of life as a former inmate. He becomes entangled in a violent territorial dispute with the Russian mob, compelling him to confront his troubled past and the survival tactics he honed during his incarceration.
