Naked Childhood (1968) follows the journey of a ten-year-old boy who grapples with feelings of abandonment when his mother sends him to a home for troubled children. He is then placed in a foster home with a working-class family who find him challenging to handle. In response to their plans to give up on him, the boy acts out by harming their daughter's cat. Subsequently, he is moved to another home where he is cared for by an elderly couple. The boy forms a bond with the wife's elderly mother, who shows him kindness and understanding. His rebellious behavior begins to subside in this nurturing environment, but he still faces legal trouble after throwing bolts at cars from a bridge. Throughout the film, the boy strives to cope with his mother's rejection and works to improve his self-esteem in this poignant tale of childhood struggles.
