The Witch with Flying Head (1982) follows the tale of Yu Chun, a woman who, along with her two devoted servants, is engrossed in prayer when a malevolent sorcerer interrupts their ritual. The sorcerer casts a dark spell on Yu Chun, causing her head to detach from her body at regular intervals and fly through the air, attacking anyone in its path. Efforts to perform exorcisms and remove the sorcerer's poison prove futile, leaving Yu Chun to endure the monthly terror of her head acting independently and causing chaos. Years pass, and a subsequent encounter with the sorcerer presents a potential opportunity to finally break the curse and free Yu Chun from her torment.
